Title

Unified Carrier Registration Act of 2005 (UCRA), Department of Public Safety responsible for enforcement of UCRA, collection of fees, disbursement, Secs. 37-3-32, 37-3-32.1 am'd.

Description

Under existing law, the Public Service Commission administers the federal Unified Carrier Registration Act of 2005 (UCRA) in the state and collects the assessments associated with administration of UCRA.

This bill would specify that the Department of Public Safety is responsible for the enforcement of UCRA in this state and that the commission and the Department of Public Safety shall coordinate in the administration of UCRA.

This bill would also further provide for the sharing of certain fees collected by the commission in the administration of UCRA between the Department of Public Safety and the commission.
