SJR105 191484-1 By Senators Dial and Whatley RFD: First Read: 13-MAR-18 191484-1:n:02/09/2018:DSM/th LSA2018-784 NAMING THE SENATOR TRIP PITTMAN INTERCHANGE IN BALDWIN COUNTY. WHEREAS, it is with highest commendation that we name the interchange at State Road 181 and Interstate 10 in Baldwin County the Senator Trip Pittman Interchange; and WHEREAS, Senator Pittman was elected in a special election in 2007 to serve Alabama Senate District 32 located in Baldwin County; he was reelected in 2010 and 2014; he continues to serve the citizens of Baldwin County and Alabama in that capacity and he has chosen not to seek re-election in 2018; and WHEREAS, born in Birmingham, Alabama, Senator Pittman and his wife, Lynn, live in Baldwin County where they are members of the Fairhope United Methodist Church; Senator Pittman received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce and Business Administration from The University of Alabama; he is the owner of Pittman Tractor Company; and WHEREAS, during his years of service in the Legislature, Senator Pittman has served on numerous committees and in leadership roles and has shepherded numerous state budgets through the legislative process; and WHEREAS, it is fitting to honor Senator Pittman by naming this interchange in Baldwin County in recognition of his service and leadership for the citizens of Alabama; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That we do hereby name the interchange at State Road 181 and Interstate 10 in Baldwin County the Senator Trip Pittman Interchange and request the appropriate officials to place and maintain signs or markers as provided in this resolution.
