COMMENDING SENATOR PAUL SANFORD FOR DISTINGUISHED
LEGISLATIVE SERVICE.
WHEREAS, we note with utmost admiration and
appreciation the distinguished service of our friend and
colleague, Senator Paul Sanford, to the citizens of Senate
District 7, in Madison County, since being elected in 2009;
and
WHEREAS, Senator Sanford has been actively involved
in the legislative process through his important leadership
and committee assignments including: Agriculture, Conservation
and Forestry, Banking and Insurance, County and Municipal
Government, Finance and Taxation General Fund, Fiscal
Responsibility and Economic Development, Governmental Affairs,
Local Legislation Madison County, Rules, and Tourism and
Marketing; and
WHEREAS, a resident of Huntsville, Senator Sanford
was educated at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde
Park, New York, and owned Little Paul's Barbecue, a restaurant
in Huntsville; and

WHEREAS, Senator Sanford and his wife, Danielle,
have two children, Chase and Ryan; he is a volunteer coach for
Upward Basketball and with youth soccer for the AYSO Program
in Huntsville; and
WHEREAS, Senator Sanford has worked tirelessly on
behalf of the citizens of Alabama while serving in the Alabama
Senate and all who have served with him will always remember
his dedication and inspiring service; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE, BOTH HOUSES
THEREOF CONCURRING, That we heartily commend Senator Paul
Sanford for his outstanding service to the people of Senate
District 7 and the State of Alabama and for his invaluable
contributions to this body for the past nine years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this
resolution will be presented to Senator Paul Sanford with our
highest esteem and appreciation, as well as sincere best
wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
