ENROLLED, House Joint Resolution,
DESIGNATING A PORTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 85 IN GENEVA
SOUTH TO STATE HIGHWAY 27 AS THE SHERIFF L. D. "RED" SIZEMORE
WHEREAS, with highest tribute and deepest
appreciation, the service of the late Sheriff L. D. "Red"
Sizemore of Geneva County is recognized and honored; and
WHEREAS, the life of Sheriff L. D. "Red" Sizemore
was dedicated to the service and protection of his fellowman;
there is no higher calling or greater sacrifice, and his
memory will be cherished in the hearts and minds of those who
were fortunate to know him during his lifetime; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the portion of State Highway
n Geneva County south from the city limits of the City of
Geneva to the intersection of State Highway 27 is designated
the Sheriff L. D. "Red" Sizemore Memorial Highway.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That, if possible, the
signage should be designed and laid out in emblems and words

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the appropriate
officials are requested to place and maintain signs and
markers in accordance with this resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this
resolution be presented to the immediate family of Sheriff L.
D. "Red" Sizemore, so that they may know of the esteem in
which we hold their fallen family member and the service he
made to his country, his state, and Geneva County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That Act 2012-123 of the
2012 Regular Session (Acts 2012, p. 198), is repealed.
