HR38 189384-1 By Representative Morrow RFD: First Read: 11-JAN-18 189384-1:n:01/04/2018:AR/ar LSA2018-19 COMMENDING FRANKLIN COUNTY CATTLEMEN AS THE LARGEST MEMBERSHIP CHAPTER IN THE STATE. WHEREAS, highest commendations and congratulations are herein proudly presented to the Franklin County Cattlemen's Association Chapter on being named the largest in the state during the 2017 membership year by the Alabama Cattlemen's Association; and WHEREAS, Franklin County finished the year with 582 members and was awarded an outdoor tent and a "Beef. It's What's For Dinner" banner for use at county events; and WHEREAS, the cattle industry represents over $2.5 billion dollars in revenue; and WHEREAS, the Alabama Cattlemen's Association has over 10,000 members in all 67 counties; and WHEREAS, the Franklin County Cattlemen's Association is led by President Steven Smith, Vice President Caleb Beason, and Secretary/Treasurer Jack Hargett with the support of an actively involved board of directors; and WHEREAS, Franklin County Cattlemen's Association is an important part of the community by participating in many events during the year, such as awarding 26 scholarships to deserving seniors in both the city and county school systems; and WHEREAS, in addition, the association provides beef to Family and Consumer Science teachers in the county each year; and WHEREAS, Franklin County has over 28,000 beef cows ranking in the top 15 cattle counties in the state; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Franklin County Cattlemen's Association is highly honored and commended, and this resolution is offered in deepest admiration and appreciation, along with sincere best wishes for all future endeavors.
