Title
Motor vehicles, authorized emergency vehicles, volunteer firefighters may use personal vehicles as emergency vehicles with purple emergency lights, Secs. 32-1-1.1, 32-5A-115 am'd.
Description

Under existing law, only authorized emergency vehicles may use emergency lights and sirens when responding to an emergency.

This bill would authorize volunteer firefighters to use purple emergency lights on their personal vehicles when responding to an emergency.

Relating to volunteer firefighters; to amend Sections 32-1-1.1 and 32-5A-115, Code of Alabama 1975, to authorize volunteer firefighters to use emergency lights under certain conditions.
