HB414 would add a $15,000 annual expense allowance for the Dale County Sheriff and, after the current sheriff’s term ends, raise the sheriff’s salary by $15,000 per year, with the allowance ending when the salary increase starts.
If enacted, the Dale County Sheriff would receive a new $15,000 annual expense allowance, paid from the county’s general fund in monthly installments and eligible to be treated as retirement contributions. Starting after the incumbent sheriff’s term expires, the sheriff’s annual salary would be increased by $15,000 per year, payable monthly from the general fund; when this salary increase takes effect, the earlier expense allowance would become void. The act becomes law immediately after passage and governor’s approval, and the funds are drawn from the county general fund.
