Municipalities would pay the county treasury an amount to cover the needed manpower and equipment, as agreed by the municipality, the sheriff, and the county commission, and the county may use funds to provide these services. Each contract requires the consent and approval of the sheriff and the county commission, and the sheriff and deputies retain their legal immunity; the act also repeals conflicting laws, is severable, and becomes effective after a defined period following passage and approval.
