Water utilities, nonprofit corps.not organized under Title 11, Code of Alabama 1975, audit by Examiners of Public Accounts
Description

Under existing law, a nonprofit public corporation organized pursuant to Title 11 of the Code of Alabama 1975, is subject to audit by the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts. A nonprofit corporation that provides water service to the public and that is not organized under Title 11 is not required to be audited by the Examiners.

The bill would require a nonprofit corporation that provides water service to the public in this state and that is not organized by a county or municipality as a public corporation to be audited by the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts.
