HB336 renames the Red Mountain Greenway and Recreational Area Commission to the Jefferson County Greenways Commission and updates related employee benefits and references.
If passed, the commission will be renamed in law to the Jefferson County Greenways Commission while its powers, duties, property, personnel, functions, and liability remain the same. All references to the former name in law will be treated as references to the new name. The bill allows the commission’s employees to be treated as state employees for state benefits, lets the commission pay employer contributions to insurance or retirement programs, and allows payroll deductions for employee contributions. The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month after passage.
