SB153 allows judges to require pretrial supervision by the Board of Pardons and Paroles as a bond condition for defendants charged with offenses listed in Section 15-13-3.
It lets a judge order pretrial supervision by the Board of Pardons and Paroles as a condition of bond for defendants charged with offenses listed in Section 15-13-3. The Board must adopt rules to implement this process. The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month after passage and approval, and it becomes operative only after the Director of Finance certifies that funds have been appropriated to the Board to implement it. The authority to order pretrial supervision is discretionary for judges, not mandatory.
