Title: Relating to any county in which the county commission is currently composed of four county commissioners and the chair of the county commission is currently rotating among these commissioners; to provide for the election of the chair of the county commission on a countywide basis as an additional member of the commission commencing with the general election in 2024; to provide for terms; and to provide for the salary and duties of the chair of the county commission.
Description: This bill would provide for a chair of the county commission to be elected countywide in any county in which the county commission is currently composed of four county commissioners and the chair of the county commission is currently rotating among these county commissioners. The chair of the county commission would first be elected for a two-year term in 2024 and thereafter for four-year terms commencing in 2026.
