House State Government Hearing
Room 206 at 15:00:00
Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) is generally defined as a digital currency used by a central bank made available to the general public. The U.S. Federal Reserve does not currently recognize or use CBDC.
This bill would prohibit any state or local governmental agency from accepting CBDC as a form of payment and would prohibit any governmental agency from participating in testing the use of CBDC by any Federal Reserve branch.
