Title
Relating to Central Bank Digital Currency; to prohibit governmental agencies from using this type of currency as payment and from participating in testing the use of this currency by the Federal Reserve.
Description

Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) is generally defined as a digital currency used by a central bank made available to the general public. The U.S. Federal Reserve does not currently recognize or use CBDC.

This bill would prohibit any state or local governmental agency from accepting CBDC as a form of payment and would prohibit any governmental agency from participating in testing the use of CBDC by any Federal Reserve branch.
