Patricia Salter Jamieson is a 67-year-old mother of three daughters, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grand-mother seeking the Democratic nomination for governor. A native Alabamian born and raised in Atmore, she is a 43-year resident of Jefferson County. Patricia attended Escambia County High School, Jefferson Davis Junior College, UAB, and Birmingham Theological Seminary. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse in Alabama and Florida and a Licensed Minister of the Gospel. She is a servant leader at Blessed Assembly Fresh Fire Worship Center. She has a BS degree in Biopsychology Health and Development and is also certified as a cancer registrar and a clinical health coach.
Patricia has spent her entire adult life as a health care provider, and the same calling that led her to that career choice leads her to be an advocate to help make every citizen of our great state realize their potential. She desires to see the disparities greatly diminished in the following areas: healthcare (mental, cognitive, sensory, physical disabilities), education, and income (a livable wage). She fully understands that people are more important than political profiting. People need and want to know that they matter to their leaders other than at election time, and Patricia promises you that she is that leader.
It matters to Patricia that our seniors must choose food over medication or housing. It matters to her that single mothers must choose substandard housing to provide the bare necessities of life for their children. It matters to her that our college students are graduating with hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loan debt and are financially ruined before they start their adult life, all because of greed. Alabama we can and will do better.
It matters to Patricia that Alabama ranks 49th beating out only Louisiana and behind Mississippi in education. We can do better if we choose to work together, stop fighting each other and unite with each other. Democrats, Republicans, Conservatives, Progressives, Black, White, Native Americans, Asians, Latinos, and all others, WE CAN DO BETTER! So, I implore you to join with Patricia in making Alabama number one in the nation as she deserves to be, we can do it if we come together. Alabama let's unite and become one! Please vote on May 24th for Patricia Salter Jamieson, as the Democratic nominee for Governor of the great State of Alabama!
