Summary

Session
Regular Session 2010
Title
Economic development projects, qualifying projects for tax incentives, base wage requirements under Section 40-18-190, Code of Alabama 1975, amendments in Act 2009-722, effective date of new requirements delayed for applications filed by November 21, 2009
Description

Under existing law, economic development qualifying projects may file a letter of intent with the Department of Revenue for the approval of certain tax incentives concerning the projects. Act 2009-722 amended the base wage requirements of qualifying projects after the effective date of Act 2009-722, which was May 21, 2009.

This bill would provide for a transition period of six months after May 21, 2009, for a qualifying project to be approved based on base wage requirements prior to the effective date of Act 2009-722, provided a letter of intent concerning the project was filed within the six-month period.
