- Title
- Relating to elections; to revise the date of the 2024 second or runoff primary election, and to provide that this is a onetime occurrence.
- Description
Under existing law, the second or runoff primary election is held four weeks after the primary election.
During the 2024 election cycle, the runoff primary election is scheduled for April 2, 2024, which is two days after Easter Sunday.
This bill would provide that only during the 2024 election cycle, the runoff primary election would be held six weeks after the primary election, which falls on the third Tuesday in April.
