Craig Ford
General Information

A native and lifelong resident of Gadsden, Craig’s commitment to first responders earned him the ‘golden ax,’ the highest award for firefighters. A strong supporter of the U.S. military, he also serves as a captain in the Alabama National Guard.
Craig’s service to Gadsden was highly effective. Twice, his fellow lawmakers in Montgomery recognized him as Most Outstanding Legislator. He also worked as a champion for local schools and secured funding for local school construction projects. Ford’s passion for education is a family commitment, as his wife, Gwen Glover, is a teacher at Gadsden State Community College.
A local businessman, Craig owns Hodges-Ford Insurance and The Messenger, a weekly newspaper. His wife, Gwen, is a teacher at Gadsden State Community College. They have two children: Jon Craig, Jr. (Jonathan) and Wells Elizabeth.
